About Me
I am a graduate student in the M.E.T. program at Boise State University. This site is a collection the materials I create for EDTECH 554 - Managing Technology Integration.
My experience, both educational and professional, is grounded in technology. My undergraduate college career includes an Associate of Arts degree in Television Production from Mt. Hood Community College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Pacific University.
The combination of career and technical education, and a liberal arts degree, provided a solid foundation for my career and life-long learning. My certification in distance learning from the University of West Georgia, coupled with extensive online teaching experience, pushes me to be a catalyst for change in how technology is utilized in online courses and increasing overall student experience, and success rates.
I worked for 18 years at Pacific University. During that time I guided the development and use of instructional technology, implemented a learning management system, along with supporting classroom media tools. In my current role, with Chemeketa Online at Chemeketa Community College, I support the development of online courses and creation of instructional media.
The Master of Educational Technology degree at Boise State University will provide a solid background to further my career in education and foundation for the use of instructional technology in online course delivery.
As a student I plan to apply what I learn to further expand the educational offerings and student success at my college. The knowledge I will gain, through the course of study, will be shared through practical and creative implementation of technology in online course development and training.
